摘要: Previous studies have reported that octacalcium phosphate (OCP) enhances osteoblast differentiation and osteoclast formation during the hydrolysis process to hydroxyapatite (HA). However, crystal phases affect crosstalk between osteoclasts osteoblasts are unknown, which should determine bone substitute material's property of OCP. The present study was designed investigate whether chemical composition structure calcium phosphates osteoclast-osteoblast crosstalk. Biodegradable β-tricalcium (β-TCP) used as control material. Osteoclasts were cultured on HA/OCP or HA/TCP disks their cellular responses assessed. Both OCP β-TCP had a similar ability create multinucleated osteoclasts. promoted expression complement component 3a (C3a), positive coupling factor, in osteoclasts, whereas enhanced EphrinB2 (EfnB2) collagen triple helix repeat containing 1 (Cthrc1). During culture, ions released from crystals, OCP-HA conversion advanced mixtures X-ray diffraction analysis revealed no remarkable changes structures before after culture. These results indicate distinct environment induced by affects osteoblasts. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Biomed Mater Res Part A: 107A: 1001-1013, 2019.
