摘要: Abstract Objective: To identify the location of human β-defensin-2 and α-defensins in odontogenic keratocysts radicular cysts. Patients Methods: Immunohistochemical staining tissue sections from enucleation specimens 14 patients with 19 cysts, normal oral mucosa 2 healthy volunteers was done using mouse monoclonal antibodies against cytokeratin 5/6 rabbit polyclonal β-defensin-2. Results: Human immunoreactivity evident 10 (72%), 7 cysts (37%). Signals for were detected cytoplasm keratinocytes parakeratinised granular layers both types The localisation Pdefensin-2 did not differ between mucosa. α-defensin but keratinocytes. neutrophils lamina propria. Conclusion: Many generate suggesting that similar defence mechanisms utilising defensins exist as well
