The objective of meta-analysis was to evaluate if administration reduces Materials and methods Online databases were searched up September 1st, 2016 for randomized placebo-controlled trials on the use adult patients critical illness. primary end point among low risk bias. secondary points length hospital stay, intensive care unit mechanical ventilation, adverse events. Results Seven studies published between 2011 2016, a total 716 patients, included analysis. Vitamin significantly lower compared placebo (101/320 [32%] group vs 123/307 [40%] group; odds ratio, 0.70 [95% confidence interval, 0.50 0.98]; P = .04; I2 = 0%). No differences events other found. Conclusions In might be reduction without significant A large multicenter trial should conclusively confirm these findings.
