摘要: Abstract In this study, the cashew gum (Anacardium occidentale Linn) (GCa) and chicha (Sterculia striata) (GCh) were characterized used in development of tables hydrogels. For purpose, gums initially by XRD, FTIR, TG, DSC, flow property. The tablets obtained evaluated for hardness, swelling, mucoadhesiveness, while hydrogels developed assessed texturometric assays. physicochemical analysis demonstrated that GCa GCh present microcrystalline amorphous structures, respectively. Both classified as fine powders presented proper flowability compressibility to tables. containing mucoadhesion strength 2.10 ± 0.31 N 1.72 ± 0.30 N, exhibited similar behavior polymers conventionally such carbomers. However, there was an evident difference swelling process, which table high erosion low a crescent linear no process observed time. hydrogel most easily best thick consistency adhesion compatible with topical formulations. Thus, based on results found, we can conclude both natural are promising excipients adhesive control drug delivery
