摘要: Background/aims:  Lactobacilli are known to play an important role in the maintenance of health by stimulating natural immunity and contributing balance microflora. However, their chronic periodontitis is unclear. We aimed identify oral lactobacilli periodontally healthy subjects, determine antimicrobial activity against putative pathogens. Methods:  A total 238 Lactobacillus isolates from saliva subgingival sites 20 15 subjects were collected. In all, 115 strains identified using rapid amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis. Antimicrobial Streptococcus mutans, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia was assessed. Results:  belonging 10 species identified. The most prevalent persons gasseri fermentum patients, plantarum. Obligately homofermentatives, particularly L. gasseri, less patients compared with (8% vs. 64% for P < 0.01). Sixty-nine percent tested inhibited S. 88%A. 82%P. gingivalis 65%P. intermedia. strongest associated paracasei, plantarum, rhamnosus, salivarius. showed a lower mutans than patients. Conclusion:  composition lactoflora differs, higher prevalence homofermentative lactobacilli, latter group. Both homo- heterofermentative suppress growth periodontal pathogens, but properties strain, origin specific.
