摘要: Background Sustained increased intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) has negative effects. Noninvasive IAP measurement could be beneficial to improve monitoring of patients at risk and in whom measurements might unreliable. We assessed the relation between abdominal wall tension (AWT) vitro vivo. Materials Methods The abdomens 14 corpses were insufflated with air. was measured intervals up 20 mm Hg. At each interval, AWT five times six points. In 42 volunteers, points supine, sitting, standing positions during various respiratory manoeuvres. Series repeated volunteers measure reproducibility by calculating coefficients variation (CV). ANOVA used for analyses. Results corpses, all showed significant correlations (P Conclusions reflects IAP. epigastric region appears most suitable measurements. Further longitudinal clinical studies are needed assess usefulness
