摘要: Background: Persistently poor glycemic control in adult type 1 diabetes patients is a common, complex, and serious problem initiating significant damage to the cardiovascular, renal, neural, visual systems. Currently, there plethora of low-cost free self-management smartphone applications available online stores. Objective: The aim this study was examine effectiveness freely application combined with text-message feedback from certified educator improve other diabetes-related outcomes two-group randomized controlled trial. Methods: Patients were recruited through an support group letters mailed adults throughout Australia. In 6-month intervention, followed by three-month follow-up, (n=72) usual care (control group) or use (Glucose Buddy) weekly Certified Diabetes Educator (intervention group). All outcome measures collected at baseline every three months over period. Patients’ glycosylated hemoglobin levels (HbA1c) measured blood test self-efficacy, self-care activities, quality life questionnaires. Results: mean age 35.20 years (SD 10.43) (28 male, 44 female), 39% (28/72) had been diagnosed for 18.94 9.66). Of initial 72 patients, 53 completed (25 28 intervention significantly improved (mean 9.08%, SD 1.18) 9-month follow-up 7.80%, 0.75), compared (baseline: 8.47%, 0.86, follow-up: 8.58%, 1.16). No change time found either relation life.
