摘要: Purpose To determine whether useful images of the optic discs conscious rats and mice can be obtained by using a photo slit lamp modified Goldmann-type fundus contact lens. Methods Testing was performed with equipped two 2x teleconverters digital camera through lens that fabricated for rodent eye. Results Images rat mouse were are comparable to those used ophthalmologists assess neuropathy in glaucoma, key part standard care clinical investigation this disease. The cup disc image these rodents is darker than neural rim disc, rather lighter, as it humans. Conclusions In addition application imaging method studies effect on cupping induced increased intraocular pressure mice, detecting documenting onset course neuropathy, should valuable identifying animal models studying neuropathogenic mechanisms, assessing effects experimental therapies.
