摘要: Africa is home to some of the most vulnerable natural ecosystems and species on planet. Around 7000 protected areas seek safeguard continent's rich biodiversity, but many them face increasing management challenges. Human disturbances permeating into parks directly indirectly affect ecological functioning integrity areas. With envisaged expansion area network further expected population economic growth in region, competition between nature conservation resources demands likely increase. The regular monitoring land cover around can support early detection conflicts. In this paper, we evaluate use annual time series MODIS Land Cover (LC) type product 2003 2009 monitor changes at continental scale. We mean classification confidence change frequency as indicators assess temporal consistency LC classifier for accurately changes. discuss perspectives issues an automated African
