摘要: Abstract Flow cytofluorimetry of acridine orange (AO)-stained lymphocytes is used as a new method for the quantitation phytohemagglutinin (PHA)-responsive “pyroninophilic” cells in culture. The increased red fluorescence individual stimulated shown to result from AO staining RNA. Alterations green also occur and are attributed partly change (increase) double-stranded RNA content an number sites intercalation into DNA. provides rapid, precise differential counts responding nonresponding cells, quantitates degree response (RNA DNA content) each cell population. It convenient quantitating lymphocyte PHA which may not involve synthesis. will differentiate cases abnormal immunologic due numbers normally normal respond abnormally.
