摘要: BACKGROUND Dogs develop germ cell tumors of the testis at a relatively high rate. It is not known to what degree these resemble various human testicular neoplasms. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The epidemiology and morphology series spontaneous canine tumors, collected between 1985 1991, was analyzed, compared with tumors. DNA content analysis representative samples performed using flow cytometry image cytometry. Eight spermatocytic seminomas were studied in parallel. RESULTS All had histopathologic features reported as typical for dog seminomas. These could show both an intratubular invasive component. Most them pure (78%), while they be combined Leydig tumor, Sertoli or both. No somatic, placental yolk sac cells identified, there no carcinoma situ (CIS). A bimodal age distribution, peak around 1 year 4 16 years age, found all mixed except those composed seminoma present dogs older than 7 years, being significantly more (p < 0.01) tumor either type. diploid. consistent peritriploid content, characteristic seminomas, which most often diploid content. Human always contained cells, showed low number ploidy comparable testis. CONCLUSIONS so-called are old age. Histologically, single type some variation without evidence differentiation. proposed that correspond thought elements represent reactive change rather biphasic differentiation stem capable germinal sex-cord development.
