摘要: The Dubuque Water Portal is a system aimed at supporting voluntary reductions of water consumption that intended to be deployed city-wide. It provides each household with fine-grained, near real time feedback on their consumption, as well using techniques like social comparison, weekly games, and news chat encourage conservation. This study used logs, survey interviews evaluate 15-week pilot 303 households. describes the Portal's design, discusses its adoption, use impacts. resulted in 6.6% decrease paper employs qualitative methods look ways which was (or wasn't) effective users enabling them reduce consumption. concludes discussion design implications for residential systems, possible engagement models.
