摘要: Light microscopic, ultrastructural, and microbiologic evaluations were performed on stomachs from 30 healthy laboratory-reared Beagles. Spiral-shaped microorganisms seen in the gastric glands parietal cell canaliculi of all dogs. Organisms most numerous cardia region fundic-pyloric junction. Lymphoreticular hyperplasia, dilatation canaliculi, degeneration individual cells (rarely seen) only morphologic alterations seen. helical, had tufts flagella at each end, approximately 0.5 X 7.0 micron; some a distinct axial fibril (indicating two forms organism). Attempts to propagate viable culture organism not successful. The closely resembled those genus Spirillum. Because was commonly found mucosa Beagles, it probably should be considered part natural flora
