摘要: The aim of this study was to investigate if the anti-androgen, flutamide, and estrogen, 17β-estradiol work together feminize juvenile Murray rainbowfish (Melanotaenia fluviatilis). Fish (60 days post-hatch) were exposed 25 ng/L (E2), µg/L flutamide (Flu low), 250 high), E2 + Flu low high. After 35 exposure, concentrations sex steroid hormones, 11-keto testosterone (11-KT), determined in head; vitellogenin (VTG) concentration measured tail. abdomens used for histological investigation gonads. Treatment with high resulted reduction body weights lengths males condition factor females. Intersex noted Flu treatments. Exposures E2 and/or (low high) precocious oocyte development but inhibited sperm development. levels decreased significantly heads both sexes after exposures (high low). alone increased 11-KT sexes. However, them Flutamide induced VTG protein tails In males, not tail exposure E2. No significant effect on E2-induced noted. We conclude that co-treatment does lead additive reproductive impairment rainbowfish. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
