摘要: Therapeutic peptides offer important cancer treatment approaches. Designed to inhibit oncogenes and other oncoproteins, early therapeutic applications were hampered by pharmacokinetic properties now addressed through tumor targeting strategies. Active with environmentally responsive biopolymers or macromolecules enhances therapeutics accumulation at sites; passive macromolecules, liposomes, exploits angiogenesis poor lymphatic drainage preferentially accumulate within tumors. Genetically engineered, thermally-responsive, elastin-like polypeptides use both strategies cell-penetrating further intratumoral cell uptake. This review describes the development application of peptide-elastin-like polypeptide for thermally targeted delivery peptides.
