摘要: ABSTRACT The study determined the 6-n-propylthiouracil (PROP) status of Filipino adults and how it relates to their body mass indices (BMI) food preferences. Self-reported preference checklists were administered 100 male female aged 18–60, classified according BMI. Increasing concentrations PROP NaCl solutions rated in labeled magnitude scale establish taster selected respondents. The adult respondents composed 12% nontasters, 45% medium tasters 43% supertasters. No association (P > 0.05) between BMI was found. Sweet-tasting foods most preferred bitter-tasting least within each status. Furthermore, supertasters had highest acceptance for meats, fish poultry, beverages, which mostly bitter. Decreased preferences fats oils, sugars confectionery, beverages correlated (P < 0.05) with responsiveness PROP.
