摘要: RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To investigate whether the lower incidence of vasodilatation upon vascular injection iotrolan, as compared with monomeric contrast media, is solely result its isotonicity. MATERIALS METHODS In an organ bath, isolated segments swine renal arteries, uncontracted or precontracted by 10 microm phenylephrine, were incubated increasing concentrations iotrolan-300, iohexol-300, iomeprol-300, iomeprol-150, and mannitol solutions same molarity media. RESULTS At equal iodine equimolar concentrations, iotrolan-300 relaxed arteries less than which was, like iso-osmolar to blood (P 0.05). Iotrolan had no significant effect on basal tonus vessels whereas iohexol iomeprol induced a slight relaxation. CONCLUSIONS Iotrolan, even at resulted in vasorelaxation iomeprol. Both osmolarity chemotoxicity contribute greater vasorelaxant artery media when that nonionic dimeric medium, iotrolan.
