摘要: Tcte2 (t complex testes expressed 2) is a male meiosis-specific gene that maps to band 3.3 of mouse chromosome 17. Two distinct fertility defects, hybrid sterility and transmission ratio distortion, have previously been mapped this region. Hybrid arises in crosses between different species the F1 generation males defects first meiotic division are sterile. Transmission distortion shown by heterozygous for t haplotype form 17 type drive which gametes function unequally at fertilization. The expresses coding mRNA number putative non-ORF transcripts meiosis I. A deletion 5′ part locus abolishes expression on Additionally, series RNAs differentially spliced show when crossed laboratory mice. identification polymorphisms haplotypes allows alleles be proposed as candidates loci contribute both phenotypes. While theoretical considerations used propose speciation involve same genes, cloned candidate support link molecular level.
