摘要: The proportion of active (unphosphorylated) branched chain alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase was determined in tissues from rats different metabolic states. Hearts normal, high-protein, and low-protein fed contained about 45% the enzyme form. Only 10-20% hearts fasted diabetic rats. Virtually all liver form fed, fasted, high-protein animals. Protein starved rats, however, exhibited a dramatic decrease both % total amount enzyme. Kidneys 70-80% kidney decreased protein but less dramatically than liver. Covalent modification is concluded to be important for vivo regulation complex.
