摘要: The Binax NOW immunochromatographic assay for respiratory syncytial virus was prospectively compared with direct fluorescent and viral culture at Primary Children's Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah during February 2003. Three hundred ten patient specimens were collected testing, of which 102 positive by the reference tests, immunofluorescence (DFA), or molecular analysis. DFA analysis identified an additional 40 other viruses. Compared to sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive values rapid detection 89.2%, 100.0%, 94.9%, respectively. This format proved be cost-effective simple use in comparison culture. Negative test results should still confirmed a secondary test.
