Rapid and highly sensitive qualitative real-time assay for detection of respiratory syncytial virus A and B using NASBA and molecular beacon technology

摘要: The performance of a sensitive and specific qualitative respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) assay based on NASBA technology real-time molecular beacon detection is presented. Very low limits for both RSV A B were determined: 95% hit-rate 95 47 copies/input in isolation B, respectively. was detected wide variety clinical samples including swabs, nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPA), bronchoalveolar lavages (BAL), endotracheal secretions, sputum samples. In total 779 tested valid result obtained 765 (RSV assay), (cell culture), 529 (rapid direct immunofluorescence testing (IF)) Of these samples, 229 61 122 (IF) positive RSV. addition, 106 reported as negative using the NOW® (Binax). Subsequent demonstrated that 32 (30%) positive. includes homologous internal control, which offers high degree standardization quality control. When performed NucliSens EasyQ platform (bioMerieux), test results 48 sample extracts less than 2 h.
