摘要: Abstract Oxidation of lipoproteins is believed to play a key role in atherogenesis. In this study, low density (LDL) was subjected oxidation the presence either human umbilical vein endothelial cells or with Cu+2 ions and major oxides formed were identified. While cholesterol-α-epoxide (C-αEP) product cholesterol peroxidation cells, cholest-3,5-dien-7-one (CD) predominated ion. Both steroids identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. HDL resistant oxidation. When tested on skin fibroblasts culture C-αEP (10 μg/ml) caused marked stimulation 14C-oleate incorporation into esters, while CD stimulated esterification only mildly. These studies show that a) LDL moiety b) it causes cells. may increasing noted
