摘要: Oxidation of low density lipoprotein (LDL) in the artery wall leads to formation cholesterol oxidation products that may result cytotoxicity. Different mechanisms could contribute LDL vivo resulting charac- teristic and specific modification molecule. Alternatively, attack on by chain propagating per- oxy1 radicals same distribution irrespective initial pro-oxidant mechanism. To distinguish between these possibilities we have monitored nine oxysterols during oxidation, promoted copper, myoglobin, peroxynitrite, or azo bis amidino pro- pane. Regardless oxidant used, pattern oxysterol was essentially same. The yields identified decreased order 7-oxocholesterol > 7phy- droxycholesterol 7a-hydroxycholesterol 5,6j%epoxycho- lesterol 5,6a-epoxycholestero1 except case peroxy-
