摘要: Background— Insufficient techniques exist for rapid and reliable phenotype characterization of genetically manipulated mouse models cardiac dysfunction. We developed a new, robust, 3-dimensional echocardiography (3D-echo) technique hypothesized that this 3D-echo is as accurate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) histology assessment left ventricular (LV) volume, ejection fraction, mass, infarct size in normal chronically infarcted mice. Methods Results— Using high-frequency, 7/15-MHz, linear-array ultrasound transducer, we acquired ECG respiratory-gated, 500-μm consecutive short-axis slices the murine heart within 4 minutes. The movies were reassembled off-line 3D matrix by using measured platform locations to position each slice 3D.
