摘要: Serum growth hormone binding protein (GHBP) activity was estimated in healthy neonates (n = 6), children and adolescents 97) young adults 19). GHBP measured by incubating 125I-hGH (human hormone) (approximately 25,000 c.p.m.) with serum (100 microliters) the presence absence of excess unlabelled hGH, followed separation specifically bound 125I-hGHBP complexes from free gel filtration on Ultrogel AcA44 minicolumns. The results are expressed as percentage specific relative to an adult reference (%RSB), after correction for endogenous hGH unknown serum. between-assay coefficients variation two sera %RSB 51.2 115.4% were 6.0 7.0% respectively. In neonates, low values found (%RSB 27.1 +/- 5.0 SEM) a major rise during first 6 years life mean value 68.3 4.1 which more than doubled that neonates. Thereafter, rose progressively throughout childhood puberty reach maximum 95.0 3.1 SEM). A novel observation correlated significantly height standard deviation score (SDS) (males: r 0.77, P less 0.001; females: 0.56, 0.01) weight SDS (P 0.001) both sexes before puberty. During only males (r 0.60, 0.01). all age groups studied, no correlation could be between velocity.
