摘要: Pregnant and lactating women infants are vulnerable population groups for adverse effects of toxic metals due to their high nutritional needs the resultant increased gastrointestinal absorption both, essential elements. Although breastfeeding is recommended worldwide, as human milk best source nutrients other required bioactive factors, it also a pathway maternal excretion substances including thus infant exposure. The aim this research was assess health risks in coastal area Republic Croatia (N=107) exposure Cd Pb via cigarette smoking, Hg seafood dental amalgam fillings, interaction with Biological markers were concentrations main Pb, blood three types breast throughout lactation stages. levels elements Ca, Fe, Cu, Zn Se serum milk. With regard smoking there on concentration correlations between index (ρ=0.593; P<0.001) mature (ρ=0.271; P=0.011) transitional (ρ=0.280; P=0.042). Regarding fish, we found weekly consumption frequency total (ρ=0.292; P=0.003) (ρ=0.303; P=0.003). number fillings correlated colostrum (ρ=0.489; P=0.005) (ρ=0.309; P=0.018). As element status, only decreased by 10% persons who continued during pregnancy compared non-smokers. In conclusion, Cd, samples studied showed no risk disrupted metal both infants.
