摘要: MUC1 is a large, heavily glycosylated mucin expressed on the apical surfaces of most simple, secretory epithelia including mammary gland, gastrointestinal, respiratory, urinary and reproductive tracts. Although was thought to be an epithelial-specific protein, it now known variety hematopoietic cells as well. Mucins function in protection lubrication epithelial surfaces. Transmembrane mucins, which contain cytoplasmic tail domains, appear have additional functions through their abilities interact with many proteins involved signal transduction cell adhesion. The goal this review highlight recent discoveries that suggest may multifunctional located sensor environment, poised interior when things go awry.
