摘要: Abstract Alternaria spp. are known to form a spectrum of secondary metabolites with alternariol (AOH), monomethyl ether (AME), altenuene (ALT) and tenuazonic acid (TA) as the major mycotoxins respect quantity. In present study we investigated contribution these compounds for DNA damaging properties complex extracts infested rice. Five different strains were cultured on rice analyzed their production AOH, AME, ALT TA. The two distinctly toxin profiles selected further toxicological analysis. An extract from A. alternata DSM 1102 rice, found contain predominantly TA, exhibited substantial strand breaking in human colon carcinoma cells comet assay, whereas TA single compound did not affect integrity up 200 μM. 12633 containing comparable proportions AME exceeded by far compounds. contrast both induced an increase modifications sensitive bacterial repair enzyme formamidopyrimidine glycosylase (FPG) indicative oxidative damage. Toxicity-guided fractionation confirmed that effects caused or Taken together, representing quantity food, play only subordinate role genotoxic appear be involved induction FPG sites.
