摘要: The expression of p53 protein was examined in a series 111 colorectal cancer adenocarcinomas with long follow-up. A quantitative luminometric immunoassay (LIA) used for the measurement wild-type and mutant extracts from tumour cytosols, being detected 42% samples (range 0.0–52 ng mg−1). Using an arbitrary cut-off value 2.7 mg−1, 25% tumours were classified as manifesting high levels. There no association patient age, sex, serum preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels, site size, nodal status or TNM stage. Significant independent correlation found to exist between levels prolonged disease-free survival (P = 0.05) at median follow-up 60 months. This advantage most apparent among stage III patients. results this study would suggest that appear be useful selecting group patients better prognosis. © 1999 Cancer Research Campaign
