摘要: To determine the effect of two different hydrologic flows on aquatic metabolism in constructed freshwater riparian marshes, we measured diurnal changes dissolved oxygen concentrations during growing seasons. Average gross primary productivity water column producers (phytoplankton, periphyton, and submerged macrophytes), estimated from daily shift concentration, was generally higher high-flow wetlands (84 kJ m−2 d−1 1990; 69 1991) than low-flow (73 46 1991). Detailed comparisons one wetland at 16 sample sites each twice solar efficiency (0.6 vs. 0.3%). Depth profiles indicated that concentration decreased by as much 60% 15 cm below water's surface to 50 below. Chlorophyll a did not correlate productivity. Water contributed an 17 67% net aboveground carbon production wetland.
