摘要: Stimulation of quiescent Swiss 3T3 cells to proliferate leads a selective 6-fold increase in the rate translation protein synthesis elongation factor eEF-1 alpha. Northern blot and solution hybridization protection studies show that levels alpha mRNA remain constant following serum stimulation, demonstrating transcripts are not degraded mitogenic stimulation is accounted for by pre-existing mRNA. Localization these resting shows they largely distributed equally between stored particles monosomes/disomes. Following addition, present redistribute large polysomes rather than monosomes disomes as would be expected. The same true those disomes. Salt-shift translational runoff indicate sedimenting with associated actively translating ribosomes. results suggest specific transcript can move within polysome profile function affinity apparatus transcript.
