摘要: The association between the concentration of selenium in serum and risk degenerative processes cardiovascular apparatus or neoplastic disease remains still uncertain. An inaccurate selection study populations, above all lack age, sex area residence specific reference values could have contributed to create confusion on biological relevance human diseases. In our present work levels for Italian population been studied, adopting standardized methods. (4201 adult subjects 1217 children) was derived from samples populations previously enrolled epidemiological preventive programs. mean observed various examined varied 87 93 micrograms/l resulted approximately 5 higher than ten European countries. paediatric (less 15 years age) were slightly lower (78-83 micrograms/l). A decreasing trend with 60 years, especially males, has observed. No significant difference geographic residence. preliminary variations during certain diseases shown a sharp reduction children phenylketonuria undergoing dietary restrictions, subject active systemic Lupus erythematosus, neoplasias.
