Methods: About 334 patients were interviewed at baseline during first outpatient visit (Baseline), 4 months after Baseline (FUI), and 8 (FU2). Respondents completed version of FACT-G version-3 scale (FACT-G (Ch)). Optimism pain assessed using two 11-point self-rated items. Linear mixed effects (LME) models tested QoL. Results: Optimism, pain, QoL most strongly correlated FUI. LME failed to show any effect by (standardized ? = -0.049, 95% CI -0.097 0.001). After adjustment for age, stage, disease recurrence, modest was observed over duration study 0.047; Sobel test z -4.317, p < Conclusions: qualifies as mediator between suggesting that pessimistic are likely experience greater decrements response early post-diagnostic period.
