摘要: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the leading malignancy among men in United States. Recent studies have focused on identification of novel metabolic characteristics PCa, aimed at devising better preventive and therapeutic approaches. PCa cells revealed unique features such as higher expression several enzymes associated with de novo lipogenesis, fatty acid up-take β-oxidation. This aberrant lipid metabolism has been reported to be important for growth, hormone-refractory progression treatment resistance. Furthermore, effectively use under adverse environmental conditions their survival advantage. Specifically, hypoxic accumulate amount lipids through a combination alterations including high glutamine uptake, well decreased oxidation. These stored serve protect from oxidative endoplasmic reticulum stress, play roles fueling cell proliferation following re-oxygenation. Lastly, cellular also implicated extracellular vesicle biogenesis, which vital role intercellular communication. Overall, new understanding recent years offered targets target manage clinical PCa.
