摘要: Objectives: To compare the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, accuracy of Papanicolaou test with visual inspection acetic acid (VIA)/VIA using magnification devices (VIAM) develop best strategy for screening in low resource settings. Materials Methods: This is a prospective cross-sectional study on 408 symptomatic multiparous women reproductive age group, sequentially test, VIA, VIAM screening. Women underwent guided biopsy endocervical curettage. The site was recorded. Histopathological findings were taken as "gold" standard comparing methods. Results: mean (SD) 32.3 (6.8) years (range, 15-49 years), whereas parity 2.9 (1.2) 1-9). Abnormal cytological detected 2.9% patients, remaining smears any intraepithelial lesion or malignancy. A total 113 cases screened by one/all value, 24, 98, 42, 96, 94%; 95, 78, 19, 99, 79%; 79%, respectively, high-grade lesions. Conclusions: had sensitivity but high detection methods addition to being cheaper. Alternative such VIA/VIAM can be valuable alternative cervical cancer Visual may benefit over VIA doubtful cases.
