摘要: T-type calcium channels are involved in a multitude of cellular processes, both physiological and pathological, including cancer. also often aberrantly expressed different human cancers participate the regulation cell cycle progression, proliferation, migration, survival. Here, we review recent literature discuss controversies, supporting role Ca2+ cancer cells proposed use blockers as anticancer agents. A growing number reports show that pharmacological inhibition or RNAi-mediated downregulation leads to proliferation increased death. In addition single agent activity, experimental results demonstrate channel enhance effects conventional radio- chemotherapy. At present, detailed biological mechanism(s) underlying activity these is not fully understood. Recent findings ideas summarized here identify molecular target for therapy offer new directions design novel therapeutic strategies employing blockers. Physiological relevance: deregulated cells, their survival, resistance treatment; therefore, could be attractive targets therapy.
