摘要: Abstract The purpose of this study is to compare the energy efficiency fossil-fired power generation for Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway aggregated), South Korea, United Kingdom Ireland, States. Together these generate 65% worldwide fossil generation. Separate benchmark indicators are calculated natural gas, oil coal-fired generation, based on weighted-average efficiencies. These aggregated an overall weighted average efficiencies 35% coal, 45% gas 38% oil-fired countries, Japan Ireland found perform best in terms generating are, respectively 8%, 8% 7% above 2003. Korea Germany 6% 4% States France 2% below average. China India 7%, 9% 13%, savings potential CO2 emission reduction if all produce electricity at highest observed (42% 52% generation), corresponds 10 EJ 860 Mtonne CO2, respectively.
