摘要: Weakly structured solutions are formed from mixtures of one or more amphiphiles and a polar solvent (usually water), often contain additional organic components. They solvophobic aggregates association structures with incomplete segregation components, which leads to poorly defined interfacial region significant contact between the aggregated hydrocarbon groups. The length scales, polydispersity, complexity ill-defined in weakly makes them difficult probe experimentally, obscures understanding their formation stability. In this work we nanostructure homogenous binary ionic liquid (IL) propylammonium nitrate (PAN) octanol as function composition using neutron diffraction atomistic empirical potential structure refinement (EPSR) fits. These experiments reveal why forms PAN but not water, mechanism by stabilises assemblies, how aggregate morphologies evolve concentration. This new provides insight into general stabilisation mechanisms structural features mixtures, reveals pathways for identifying molecular liquids that likely facilitate aggregation non-traditional amphiphiles.
