摘要: Postsurgical skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are uncommon, indolent, difficult to treat, often mimic pyogenic bacterial infections. Here we present 3 cases of NTM following placement silicone implants for reconstructive breast surgery. These emphasize the importance a high index suspicion in patients with SSI after prosthetic reconstruction refractory conventional antibiotic therapy early investigation mycobacterial-specific diagnostics.
