摘要: There is still no consensus on the follow-up frequency and regimen after curative resection for gastric cancer. Moreover, controversy exists regarding utility of in improving survival, recommendations experts societies vary considerably. The main reason to establish surveillance programs diagnose tumor recurrence or metachronous cancers early thereby provide prompt treatment prolong survival. In setting malignancies, other reasons have been put forth: (1) detection adverse effects a previous surgery, such as malnutrition digestive sequelae; (2) collection data; (3) identification psychological and/or social problems provision appropriate support patients. No randomized controlled trials role carcinoma published. Herein, primary retrospective series systematic reviews this subject are analyzed discussed. Furthermore, guidelines from international national scientific Follow-up recommended by majority institutions; however, there real evidence that can improve long-term survival rates. Several studies demonstrated it possible stratify patients submitted gastrectomy into different classes according risk recurrence. promising identified several molecular markers related relapse prognosis. Based these premises, strategy will be tailor relation patient characteristics, marker status, individual
