摘要: Fuel cell vehicles are considered to be a viable solution problems such as carbon emissions and fuel shortages for road transport. Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Cells mainly used in this purpose because they can run at low temperatures have simple structure. Yet make technology commercially viable, there still many hurdles overcome. Apart from the high cost of systems, maintenance costs short lifecycle two main issues need addressed. The paper is review affecting reliability lifespan cells present state art condition monitoring maintenance. Structure PEM introduced examples its application variety applications presented. fault modes including membrane flooding/drying, fuel/gas starvation, physical defects membrane, catalyst poisoning listed assessed their impact. Then relationship between causes, faults, symptoms long term implications conditions summarized. Finally reviewed conclusions drawn regarding suggested strategies optimal structure an integrated, effective management system.
