摘要: Histological evidence of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) recurring after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) was looked for in a 'blinded' study 353 biopsies from 188 patients, 12-100 months post-transplant. Biopsies (172) were obtained 83 patients transplanted PBC and 181 105 with other diseases. Sixteen 13 (16%) had features suggestive recurrent disease. The main diagnostic findings were: mononuclear portal inflammatory infiltration (n = 16), lymphoid aggregates 14), epithelioid granulomas 14) bile duct damage 15). This combination changes not seen any biopsy the non-PBC group. Additional supporting diagnosis disease ductopenia 7), ductular proliferation fibrosis 6) copper deposition 5). Thirteen 12 classified as stage I or II histologically. patient developed progressive three serial resulting an early micronodular cirrhosis, 5 years These observations provide further that recurs OLT. More studies are required to determine natural history clinical significance predominantly histological documented so far.
