摘要: The morphology of strained SrRuO3 films grown on SrTiO3(001) has been investigated as a function thickness. A transition growth mode observed. At the early stages, there is fingerlike structure originated by three-dimensional (3D) islands that nucleated along substrate steps. Afterward, adatoms stick preferentially in valleys and become progressively smoother. thickness above 10–20 nm, are extremely flat have self-organized terraces steps, with proceeding mainly step flow (two-dimensional) mechanism. Relevance film properties possible use initial, nanometric, 3D structures discussed.
