摘要: Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) [P(3HB)] and others polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are recovered from the cells after their accumulation, in production phase. The impact of PHA extraction may represent more than 50% total process. To ensure proper removal bioplastic bacterial several unitary operations must be performed In addition, one also need to take consideration: reduction product losses during processing, preservation physicochemical properties biopolymer, obtaining a highly pure product, use low toxicity solvents/chemicals. this case, methods include: chemical by using solvents, digestion aqueous system two phases; mechanical with high pressure homogenization, ball mill, French press ultrasound; biological methods, enzymatic digestion, bacteria predatory larvae or single cell protein; combination these methods. This chapter discusses both classical innovative for recovering/purifying PHAs, emphasizing yield, purity effect on obtained biopolymers.
