摘要: Although research has focused primarily on the wide range of variability in cognitive phenotype between individuals with velo-cardio-facial syndrome (VCFS), we know relatively little about extent to which within-individual expressions remain stable throughout development. General functioning low borderline is most consistent finding. Stronger reading decoding and spelling skills as well auditory/verbal rote memory have been reported be areas relative strength. Conversely, significant visuospatial dysfunction, diminished math attainment, executive dysfunction all phenotypic. We propose several considerations that could advance our knowledge developmental changes VCFS phenotype. The salient these need for more longitudinal designs carefully matched control participants.
