摘要: The use of the procaine-blocked hemisected spinal cord preparation to identify primary action amino acids and their antagonists on amphibian mononeurones is described. 2 Apart from an anomalous effect glycine, responses frog motoneurones were shown be similar those mammalian neurones. 3 In presence procaine, gamma-aminobutyrate (GABA), taurine beta-alanine caused a hyperpolarizing response, measured in ventral roots, whereas L-glutamate and, lesser extent, glycine depolarization. 4 Picrotoxin bicuculline specifically blocked root GABA; strychnine but not L-glutamate, or GABA.
