摘要: Background Diagnosis and treatment of FUO or systemic inflammation with unknown reason are still a great challenge for the treating physician. We used (18)F-FDG-PET further diagnostic work in patients whom diagnosis could not be established despite intensive efforts. Methods/results studied nine (18)F-FDG-PET. Two female known Takayasu's arteritis but undefined disease activity, seven clinical suspicion an underlying large vessel vasculitis. The active vasculitis confirmed by PET-results eight patients. Active nearly ruled out one. diagnoses follow-up visits. Conclusion is useful tool unclear FUO. Especially when suspected, PET seems to benefit. Furthermore, it offers opportunity evaluate activity check which vessels involved.
