摘要: Biochemical and histopathological parameters of the ovarian function were observed to assess toxic effect low dose atrazine, an s-triazine herbicide, in female pigs (gilts) undergoing intensive breeding. Female (cross-bred between Swedish German landrace) received 2 mg atrazine kg−1 body wt. feed daily during 19 days oestrous cycle. The last treatment day corresponded -3 onset next expected oestrus. Blood samples collected 3 times at 3-h intervals on first 5 post-treatment days. Serum 17β-oestradiol (17β-E) progesterone (P) concentrations determined. A significantly higher (P < 0.05 P 0.001, respectively) serum concentration lower 0.01 17β-E was recorded 48 24 h before oestrus atrazine-treated pigs, as compared intact pigs. failed occur, but no other adverse clinical reactions associated with recorded.
