摘要: The relationship between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and uric acid (UA) has been explored in many studies, but there is paucity of information on hypo-uricemia MetS. current study aimed to elucidate the lower end UA MetS elderly. Subjects aged ≥60 years who underwent routine health checkups were enrolled, 10,579 eligible for analysis. A cross-sectional was first performed determine correlation UA. subjects divided into two groups according lowest male prevalence each level (UA ≤5 >5 mg/dl). longitudinal then excluded with at baseline validate those incidence In different levels, a J-shaped curve males linear females. males, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, high-density lipoprotein, triglyceride correlated univariate analysis, lipoprotein became insignificant multivariate analysis mg/dl (UA-high). Only fasting plasma glucose (FPG) significantly related (UA-low). 4.5–5 had risk having odds ratio, log-rank test, hazard ratio. phenomenon exists elderly men not women FPG seem be key factor this. Lower does provide benefits men. new control strategy warrants further investigation.
