摘要: PURPOSE Increasing drusen volume was proposed to be a predictor of disease progression in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In patients with late AMD one eye, the fellow eyes without neovascularization are known at higher risk developing exudative AMD. We evaluated relationship between these and their METHODS A retrospective analysis included associated nonexudative All neovascular were treated intravitreal ranibizumab, aflibercept, and/or bevacizumab followed for 2 years. scanned Cirrus HD-OCT using 512 × 128 scan pattern. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) data baseline, month 12, 24 collected advanced RPE tool quantify within 3- 5-mm-diameter circles centered on fovea. scans also development geographic atrophy (GA) or (MNV). RESULTS Eighty-nine who had only eye studied. absence MNV could measured 61 participants (68.5%). After 12 months, 4 (4.5%) developed 15 (16.9%) GA. By months follow-up, an additional 5 (7.1%) 10 (14.3%) At 24, that GA baseline volumes significantly larger than did not develop Patients over 0.03 mm3 greater 4-fold increased compared those lower volumes. CONCLUSIONS Baseline appears important years have being actively MNV. This suggests OCT-derived measurements may useful biomarker identify highest
